Supporting the People of the Kimberley
KGT is actively engaged with the Kimberley community and has a number of initiatives in place to support local schools, community events, sporting activities and other not-for-profit organisations. KGT's work placement outcomes are not matched in the region and we have a strong track record with finding sustainable employment for participants that benefits employees, employers, and the wider community.
KGT also has established links to several local youth groups, including Clontarf Football Academy, Alta-1, Shooting Stars, 54 Reasons, PCYC, Kununurra Waringarri Aboriginal Corporation and School to Work Transitional Network.
Through our work we aim to:
- Prepare local people for local jobs
- Retain the region income in the community
- Reduce dependence on welfare
- Promote positive indigenous inclusion in the community
- Maximise opportunities for local people
- Improve social outcomes through engagement in work
- Increase local employment
- Build community support in training
- Provide information on vocational training
- Create opportunities for disadvantaged people
