Company Overview and History
KGT is an independent, community-based, not-for-profit organisation, focused on supporting both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in the Kimberley region in establishing a career pathway by providing training, sustainable employment opportunities and support services.
KGT was formed in 1993 by Ian Trust, Chairman of Wunan Regional Council, with the ambition to assist the youth of the region in finding employment. It later expanded to the West Kimberley, with a particularly strong focus on enhancing and increasing opportunities for Indigenous Australians. Since becoming an incorporated organisation in 1997, Kimberley Group Training has become recognised as a leading service provider in the management of Indigenous and non- Indigenous apprentices in the Kimberley region.
KGT currently supports employers and employees across all industries in Kimberley region of Western Australia. These industries include, but are not limited to:

- Agriculture & Horticulture
- Conservation Land Management
KGT has an office in Kununurra and services the whole Kimberley region, including remote Aboriginal communities.
KGT is an accredited Group Training Organisation administered by a Management Committee and supported by the Department of Education and Training, and the Commonwealth Department of Employment Education and Workplace Relations.
